Beavers are the second youngest section in Scouts, it's all about fun,
friendship, and adventure for young people aged 6 to 8 years
In Beavers, young people get to try lots of different activities, play games, and make new friends. It's a fantastic introduction to the world of Scouts. We focus on helping them develop teamwork and collaboration skills in a supportive environment. Beavers also get a first taste of spending time outdoors and connecting with nature.

Who are Beavers and what do they get up to?
Beavers are young people, aged 6 to 8, who:
Master new skills and try new things
Have fun and go on adventures
Explore the great outdoors
Make friends
Are curious about the world around them
Help others and make a difference, on their own doorsteps and beyond
Every week, they gather in groups called Beaver Colonies to hop, skip and jump their way through lots of different games and activities – achieving anything they set their minds to, and having lots of fun along the way.
Beavers uniforms
Uniform can either be bought from our online shop - Scout Store - or from a local supplier. If you’re stuck, ask adult volunteers to tell you more about what to buy and where to buy it. If cost is an issue, they will be more than happy to help. We have a small amount of second hand uniform, if you would like to request any items please get in touch with Grant
You don't need a uniform to join. But once you've settled in, you'll start speedily earning badges, and you'll need to know where to put them! Beaver uniform consists of a blue sweatshirt with your badges sewn on and a coloured scarf or 'necker’ to represent your local group. We recommend all our new Beavers wait to purchase uniform until after the first meetings to ensure they settle in.
Wearing a uniform is comfy and practical. It means you can run around and get messy without ruining your other clothes. It makes you feel part of a team. It means no one feels uncomfortable or left out. And it gives you a place to show off all the brilliant badges you earn.
